One of the most convenient and fun ways to share information is through the helpful online mailing lists that are available. Through these lists, fellow researchers share data, stories, tips, and ideas, often "brain-storming" their way through brick walls.
The mailing lists in the table below have their focus on some aspect of Maryland genealogy. Many are not affiliated with MDGenWeb, and so we cannot assist you in subscribing and unsubscribing, beyond providing you with the following instructions. They've been organized by scope; blue indicates a state-wide list, green a regional list, and tan a county-specific list.
Most lists offer you a choice of subscribing in either "list" or "digest" mode. With list mode, you will receive each message sent to the list as a separate email. If you subscribe in digest mode, you will receive a periodic packet of a number of messages bundled together into one email. This is often useful in high-traffic, very active lists.
Once you're subscribed, you'll receive a welcome email detailing the proper way to post your own messages to the list.

To Subscribe to or Unsubscribe from any list below (except where specified otherwise):
Click on the word MAIL or DIGEST. An email composition box should appear. Type ONLY the word "SUBSCRIBE" or "UNSUBSCRIBE" (without the quote marks) in the message area. A subject line will be ignored, but anything other than subscribe or unsubscribe in the message area will cause your command to fail.

of Delaware (Kent and Sussex), and the Eastern Shore of
Virginia (Accomack and Northampton Counties). This is a
