MOHLER/MOLER Searching the Mohler family that resided near Taneytown. Henry Mohler (1711-1796) left a will (then part of Frederick County, MD), naming Jacob, Valentine, John and Margaret (wife of Valentine Pressel). What became of John and Valentine above? Jacob, son of Henry above, had the following known children: He had other children, but names unknown. Solomon (1763-1852) md Mary Trout Catherine (1765-1851) md. Michael Lutz Henry (abt 1768-1821) md Anna Maria (Sowers?) Jacob Jr. (abt 1771-1829) md (1) Elizabeth Sowers and (2) Susannah Sowers. Solomon, Catherine, and Henry removed to Perry County, Ohio, while Jacob Jr. remained in Carroll County. Jacob Jr. had 16 children; John 1795; David 1797; Abraham 1800; Catharine abt 1802; William 1804; Margaret abt 1806; Benjamin abt 1808; Jacob 1811; Hannah abt 1812; Peter 1814; Magdalena abt 1816; Susannah abt 1818; Mary abt 1820; Rueben abt 1822; Emanuel 1825; and George 1828. Would like to exchange information with anyone searching on any of the above. Would also like to know who the above female children of Jacob Jr. married.JAC

William Sowers (abt 1740-1825) resided in Adams County, Pa, and then Carroll County (then Frederick County), Maryland. His wife Catharine died in 1834 and her administration listed her children. George (abt 1763) md Eva Margaret Peter (1765-1848) md (1)Elizabeth Sinn; (2)Pamelia Margaret (1767) md ???? John (1769-1825) md Catherine Lutz Anna Maria (1770- ???) md Henry Mohler ?? MYERS/MEYERS/MIERS/MEYRES - 1700's - Looking for connections to families that settled around Little Pipe Creek during the middles 1700's. All I have is a reference to a Phillip MYERS (born before 1765) that left around 1785 to go with several other families (such as the RHOADS) to go to the 'new' state of Kentucky. They settled in the Muhlenberg County, KY area. I've dug through quite a few Maryland books and can't find any Phillips. He did, however, name his son Henry (b ~1790 in KY). So it might be possible that his name was Henry Phillip and went by the name Phillip, to distinguish himself from his son (that's a stretch, though). Anyone done any MYERS research?

HARMAN, Bessie Irene---born 17 May 1893 Westminister, Carroll County Maryland. Died March 1978 Harford Co Md. Searching for her parents. This is my grandmother and she was born in the orphanage that was in Westminister at the time. Family tradition states it was a Catholic orphanage tho the family didnt practice that faith. She was raised by the Zachery WATERS family of Montgomery Co Md. but retained the surname of HARMAN. She mentioned more than once that her biologocal family was connected to the LEE's of Northern Virginia. Bessie knew who her biological family was but did not pass the information on. Any information on this surname or where the records of this orphange might be would be appreciated. Bessie married Marion Leslie BUTCHER May 1910 Montgomery Co. Md.

Nancy and Clement BROOKE were parents of Phillip Brooke, born in 1821 in Maryland, and married on Feb 1, 1842 to Elivzabeth Lownes LEVIS of Pennsylvania. Famly rumor links Nancy Carroll to Charles Carroll, signer of the Declaraation of Independence.

William SHERWOOD and Alice COLSTON, married around 1800-1805. Looking for William's parents. Alice is the daughter of James Colston (died 1810) and Alice Orem (died 1814). William and Alice's son THOMAS G. SHERWOOD was born in 1806 and is named in his grandfather's will and also in a Talbot County land record in 1814. Both Sherwoods & Colstons had land in Dorchester & Talbot counties, so I'm not sure where William was born. He and Alice were both Methodist which is probably why I can't find a marriage record. Anyone know of a William Sherwood born around 1775?
