LANTZ, SMELSER: Researching descendants of George Lantz and Michael Smelser, of the greater New Windsor, Carroll Co, MD area. John Lantz married Sarah Smelser; Catharine Lantz married Jacob Smith, Elizabeth Lantz married Abraham Weaver, Anna Maria Lantz married David Best, Joseph Lantz married Rachel Formwalt (this family moved to OH, and children moved to North Dakota), George Lantz married Rachel Grammer. Looking for John Bishop son in law of George Lantz who died 1799 in then Frederick Co, MD who lists his son in law as John Bishop, but doesn't say to which of his daughters he is married. Other researchers say these Bishop families moved to West Virginia. Other allied families being researched in connection with this project are: HYDE, OTTO, CAYLOR, NORRIS, SELLMAN, POOL, COOKSON, SCHWEIGART, BLOOM, WINTERS, and others.

WAGERS, FRIZELL, LOGUE. William Wagers was one of a number of children in the Baltimore Co era of Carroll Co. He married Nancy FRIZELL in 1789 and lived until about 1840 in the Baltimore/Carroll Co region. Their son, John WAGERS, married Margaret LOGUE, daughter of Richard LOGUE, ca 1820 and left the area for Ohio in the 1830's. Am researching the Wagers (Wages), Frizell, and Logue surnames in this area and would happily exchange information with anyone else working on the same surnames. Seek descendants of Adam KRUGER and wife Christina ANDIS. Children included: Solomon bpt. 1772; Christian b. 1774; Peter b. 1777; Anna Maria b. 1785; Wilhelm b. 1788; and Johann Wilhelmm b. 1790. These children were all baptized in the Rocky Hill Church, Woodsboro, Frederick Co., MD. There may have been others born after the couple moved to Carroll Co. I am compiling a book on the ANDIS family and wish to include the female lines but have no information on this family to date. I am researching any information on Adam SHEFFEY my gggg grandfather and his family. He was a shoemaker in Frederick Town, MD during the last half of the 1700s. One son, Daniel went on to become a US Congressman from Augusta, VA. In his early years, he and his brother-in-law, Johann GEYER had written a "Diary of Events Of Frederick Town" probably about 1795. According to history, the last that the "Diary" was seen it was in the possesion of Jonas Geyer, Johann's son. I am wondering if the local library/s have an assession list of their holdings that could be researched. A copy of this diary would be an extremely valuable piece of family history for my family and that of the Geyer side. Should any one have any information of this family and that of the "Diary" would greatly be appreciated. I know this is a long shot, but heck I have got to try.
